Understanding the Membership Add-On Feature Set for Use with Memberships in bepoz

Overview

This article provides an overview of the Membership Add-Ons feature in bepoz and how it works with Membership Products.

Membership Add-Ons allow businesses to sell additional services together with Memberships. They share similar behaviour with Membership Renewals and can be charged either as a single payment in full or as recurring payments, depending on the setup.

Note: Membership Add-Ons are not standalone products. They can only be sold with Membership Products and can be applied either through Renewals or directly to an individual member through Membership Maintenance.

Prerequisites

Before using Membership Add-Ons, confirm the following requirements are met:

  • Memberships is an authorised and active module.

  • Membership Add-Ons is an authorised and active module.

  • The Membership Add-Ons module requires the Memberships module.

  • The logged-in operator in BackOffice has access to:

      • Accounts & Memberships with all flags enabled

      • Billing with all flags enabled

      • Operator Maintenance > Maintenance tab

Contact your Account Manager if module authorisation or activation is required.

Important: The minimum supported version for this feature is bepoz v4.7.

BackOffice Configuration Steps

  1. Confirm that the required Membership modules are authorised and active.

  2. Confirm the operator has the required BackOffice access permissions.

  3. Create or edit Membership Add-Ons in BackOffice to suit the business requirement.

  4. Match the Membership Add-On payment type to the Renewal payment type it will be used with.

  5. Create separate Membership Add-Ons where different payment types are required.

  6. Create separate Membership Add-Ons where Renewals differ by billing period, such as monthly, quarterly or other time-based Renewal types.

  7. Add the Membership Add-On either:

    • to a Renewal, so it applies whenever that Renewal is used for a Membership, or

    • to an individual member through Membership Maintenance.

SmartPOS Functions

Once configured, Membership Add-Ons can be managed through bepoz and used as part of the Membership workflow.

The following functions are supported through SmartPOS:

  • Adding and selling Account Memberships with Add-Ons

  • Adding and removing Membership Add-Ons after a member has joined

  • Cancelling Memberships

  • Changing Memberships

  • Adding and saving a stored card in SmartPOS for future payment options
