1D and 2D Barcode Differences
-
A 1D barcode is a traditional linear barcode made up of vertical lines and spaces. It usually contains a smaller amount of data and is commonly used for standard product barcodes.
-
A 2D barcode stores data in both directions, allowing it to hold more information in a smaller space. Common examples include QR codes and Data Matrix codes.

In general:
- 1D scanners read standard linear barcodes.
- 2D scanners can read both 1D barcodes and 2D barcodes, depending on the model.
