Overview

The standard Oolio Cash Drawer Unit is a solid metal unit designed for POS environments. It opens via an electronic trigger (“kick”) from a supported device using a DK port, and includes adjustable note and coin compartments plus a front media slot for receipts and sundry items.

  • Connects to a supported DK port on compatible POS hardware (for example, a POS till or receipt printer that provides a DK interface).

  • Supports standard drawer kick operation for opening during a transaction or when printing (depending on device and configuration).

  • Front media slot for storing cheques, receipts, or vouchers without opening the drawer.

  • Key lock supports locked, unlocked, and key-operated opening modes.

Basic usage

  1. Confirm the drawer key is in the unlocked or operational position.

  2. Use the POS transaction flow (or receipt printing, where configured) to trigger the drawer via the connected DK port device.

  3. Insert non-cash media through the front media slot as required.

Installation Considerations

🚩 IMPORTANT:

To ensure correct operation of the cash drawer, note the following:

  • The front of the Cash Drawer Unit must be flush with the benchtop. This ensures the drawer opens fully and allows the note springs to lift correctly.

  • Where a third-party Security Housing is installed under the bench, the maximum permitted front lip height is 23 mm (measured with the drawer feet attached). A lip height which exceeds this may prevent the drawer from opening fully or at all.
