What’s New in 4.9.0.6

🎉 A Fresh New Look — Bepoz is Now Oolio

Bepoz is part of the Oolio family, and with this release the software you use every day reflects that. After upgrading to 4.9.0.6 you’ll see the Oolio brand throughout:

  • SmartPOS — the POS now displays the Oolio logo, and the login screen ships with a new default Oolio-branded wallpaper.
  • BackOffice — the Oolio logo replaces the Bepoz logo throughout BackOffice.
  • Snapshots Web, SmartPDE and the Snapshots Mobile App — all updated with the new Oolio branding.

What this means for your venue:

  • Nothing changes in how the system works. Every screen, button, workflow, report and setting behaves exactly as before — this is a visual refresh only.
  • Your licensing, support and account arrangements are unchanged. You’ll continue to be supported by the same team, through the same channels.
  • Brief your staff before the upgrade. The new logo and login wallpaper appear immediately after updating — a quick heads-up means nobody mistakes the new look for the wrong software on a busy shift.

Hanshow Electronic Shelf Labels — New Integration

Bepoz now connects directly to Hanshow electronic shelf labels. A new export job in Job Maintenance sends product pricing, promotions, member/loyalty pricing, stock levels and supplier category data to Hanshow’s cloud platform on a polling interval — so shelf-edge prices, specials and member deals stay in sync with Bepoz without any manual re-tagging.

The integration supports mapping each venue to its Hanshow store, mapping up to three Bepoz price levels to Hanshow’s price slots, member-only and multibuy promotions (including member-only multibuys, shown only at the right stores), an option to keep flagged promotions off shelf labels, and a Debug Mode for verifying the export before going live. See the Hanshow ESL Configuration Guide for full setup steps.

Transaction Summaries Report — New BackOffice Report

A new Transaction Summaries report amalgamates the Table Report and Transaction Journal into one view, with expand/collapse, drill-through to transaction detail, and reconciliation back to the Journal. A separate dedicated report for refunds, returns, voids, clears and table transfers has also been added, putting all reversal-type activity in one place.

Maintain Tips — Confirmation Before Applying

Maintain Tips now asks for a Yes/No confirmation of the tip amount before it is applied, preventing mis-keyed (“fat-finger”) tips from landing on transactions.

Room Charge Tips — Add Tips After the Sale

A new Room Charge Tips view in Maintain Tips lets venues add tips to room-charge payments after the sale — matching the workflow already available for card payments.

Auto-Tip on Discount Buttons

The Disc % All and Disc $ All function buttons now support an auto-tip % option, applying a tip automatically alongside the discount.

Refund Workflow Improvements

Refunding is faster and safer: refunds via recall/maintain transactions no longer prompt for an order type, Refund Item now prompts for a quantity and supports refunding multiple items at once, and points redeemed as an order discount are automatically returned to the member when the item is refunded.

Covers Prompt for Counter Sales

Non-table sales can now prompt for a guest count (covers) when the order type is selected, and non-table covers are reported on till balance and shift totals — giving accurate cover counts across table service and counter service alike.

Gate Keymap Order-Type Mode

A new mode holds the product keymap until the operator selects Dine-In or Takeaway, guaranteeing every sale carries an order type from the very first item.

Condiment Memory for Sub-Condiments

SmartPOS condiment memory (“remember selections”) now extends to nested/sub-condiments.

Per-Store Auto-Logoff

Till auto-logoff and timed-logoff times are now configured per Store rather than globally, so different venues on a shared database can run different logoff policies.

Customer Display — Modern Layout Option

The customer/rear display gains a scalable, opt-in modern layout, and item names no longer clip on longer product names.

MX51 EFTPOS — Customer Receipt Print Control

A new configuration dropdown controls automatic printing of the customer EFTPOS receipt on MX51 devices.

Doshii EFTPOS — Quick Sale Fallback

If the linked order can’t be found at payment time, the payment now falls back to a quick sale rather than failing.

Oolio Insights — Transaction Queue

A new transaction queue streams Bepoz transaction data to Oolio Insights.

SevenRooms — Multiple Diaries

The SevenRooms integration now supports multiple diaries, including transferring tables across diaries.

More Integration Updates

  • SmartRetail / Thirsty Camel loyalty integration updated to 2.0.48.2503.
  • Myfoodlink (ILG) — promotions can now be flagged for exclusion from the feed (e.g. staff-only promotions).
  • Points redemption now respects a redeem profile of 0% (blocking redemption) instead of treating it as unrestricted.
  • nConnect — refunding a points redeem now voids the original redemption rather than depositing points back.
  • IBA Promotions import captures the Program name against each imported promotion.
  • XML API — Service Charge Schedules can now be managed via the XML API.

Implementation & Deployment Tooling

For implementers and multi-venue groups: Database.exe gains headless /IMPORTPRODUCTS, /IMPORTDEVICES and /ADDVENUE switches for scripted site builds, product-import price-level names now apply across all venues on multi-site databases, the UPD application can now deploy Toolbox, the ComPrinter supports an unrestricted number of printer emulators, and the Support Mode SmartController window has been extended to 12 hours.

Bug Fixes in 4.9.0.6

EFTPOS & Payments

  • MX51/Presto payment carry-over — The interface could occasionally apply the previous transaction’s payment to the current transaction. This has been resolved.
  • Adyen/Oolio Pay pre-auth error reporting — Gateway rejections during pre-auth capture or tip adjust were misreported as an amount/tip mismatch. The real failure reason is now shown.
  • Multiple EFTPOS device selection — Tip, capture and void operations now automatically use the device that took the payment instead of prompting the operator to pick one.
  • Adyen pre-auth capture timing — Captures no longer fail during the short window the gateway can take to propagate a tip adjustment.

Online Ordering & Aggregators

  • Doshii negative tip carry-over — A previous split-payment tip could carry into the next Doshii transaction as a negative value, causing it to fail. Resolved.
  • Pay@table bundle totals — Bundle items with duplicate variant/add-on quantities (e.g. 2x of the same add-on) are now fully counted, so Pay@table totals match Bepoz.
  • Doshii payload accuracy — The JSON payload sent to Doshii now matches the Bepoz transaction.
  • Missing condiments — Condiments that don’t exist in the store’s product file are no longer sent to Oolio Order Manager.
  • Head-office CPU usage — Optimised how the Oolio Order Manager data link reads keymap display names, resolving high CPU usage at multi-venue head offices.
  • Delivery time printing — Delivery times now always print to remote printers, regardless of the prep-time setting.

Electronic Shelf Labels

  • Promotion dates a day early — The Hanshow and TicketIT exports could send promotion end dates a day early on 24-hour or midnight-ending schedules; the full date-and-time window is now sent.
  • Member multibuy handling — Member-only multibuy deals are now sent as a distinct member offer and only to the stores they belong to, never as a general offer.
  • Per-size stock figures — Multi-size products now report each size’s own stock figure instead of one shared figure across all sizes.
  • Supplier details — Supplier name and code are now included when the job’s Supplier option is configured, and the Pack Size field maps from the correct product attribute.
  • Flagged-promotion pricing — The eLabels job no longer sends the wrong promotion price when flagged-promo mode is active.

Gaming & Loyalty

  • False-success points redeems — A failed nConnect points redeem is no longer reported to the POS as successful, and redeems now settle correctly with the vendor.
  • EGM member lookup — Aristocrat S7000 lookups now work for members with a membership ID but no card number.
  • Scanner lock-up — The Magellan scale/scanner is no longer left disabled after a scan (previously required a power cycle).
  • “Redeem Not Allowed” respected — Items in a promotion configured as Redeem Not Allowed can no longer be redeemed with points.
  • Zen remote venues — Points redemption data is now sent to Zen for remote venue transactions.
  • LMG TransQ export error — Resolved a “Non-negative number required” error that could stop the export.
  • Voucher + loyalty discount removal — Remove Loyalty Discount now works correctly with CALink voucher redemption.

Tables, Service Charges & POS

  • Bistro tables not closing — A cash discount applied to a service charge could leave a residual amount that stopped the table closing after cash payment. Resolved.
  • Midnight service charge schedules — Service Charge Schedules now trigger when the schedule end time is set to midnight.
  • Single-drawer cash payments — Operators are now prompted to assign a drawer on single-drawer tills using Operator Cash Drawer Lock, instead of cash payment being blocked.
  • Simplified Split — Split items are no longer lost (or duplicated as discounted products) after adding an account to a split.
  • Till Balance counts — Dine In / Takeaway transaction and item counts no longer include voids and refunds.
  • Table limit override — Manager Override for Table Limit is enforced again (regression from 4.8.2.3), and now applies to all table limit changes.
  • Timed logoff on table map — Timed logoff now fires while the graphical table map is displayed.
  • Offline crash with TareWeight — SmartPOS no longer crashes in offline mode when TareWeight is enabled.
  • Operator card capture — The Update Operator Card Number function button now captures scanned/swiped card data.
  • Order-type prompt on SmartPOS Mobile — The Dine-In/Takeaway “prompt at start of sale” now displays on SmartPOS Mobile instead of the host server.
  • Barcode sizes — Scanning a barcode can no longer sell a size that isn’t set to “Show in Store”.
  • Condiment selection feedback — Prepend/instruction condiments now show a clear visual selection when armed.
  • Points-as-cash clearing — Points redeemed as an order discount can now be cleared with the Clear button on non-table sales.
  • Room charge tip prompt — The auto-tip-prompt bill now includes suggested tip percentages on counter-service sales.

Printing & Kitchen

  • Kitchen docket wrapping — Long condiment and second-name lines now wrap on Windows kitchen dockets instead of being cut off.
  • Container product receipts — Receipts no longer double the line-item amount for container products when the format shows gross amounts.
  • Zero Untipped printing — Reconciliation “Zero Untipped” now respects the Maintain Tips print configuration instead of printing a tip receipt for every card.
  • Unexpected receipt after points redeem — “Print after redeem” no longer also prints an unrelated earlier receipt on non-table sales.
  • Printer keep-alive error — The SmartPrint TCP keep-alive no longer errors on printer definitions with a blank clear-all code.
  • KDS recall warnings — The KDS-Link partial-failure warning and receipt fallback no longer misfire on recalled bar-printer items.
  • KDS upgrades — The updater now stops the KDS API service before upgrading, preventing locked files from breaking the upgrade.

PMS & Accommodation

  • Opera service period postings — Corrected service period posting on non-room tenders via the FIAS interface.
  • Split refund postings — Refunds of part-cash / part-room-charge sales now post the correct Sales and Tax itemizers to Opera.

Platform & Performance

  • Prize Promo queue — Transactions whose table can’t be resolved are no longer retried forever, which flooded the SmartController log.
  • SmartPOS Mobile / Kiosk timeouts — The TCP reply timeout has been increased to prevent connection timeouts on slower networks.
  • Reporting performance — Added a missing database index, improving hold-transaction reporting performance.
  • Cash discrepancy on returns — Returning items for cash no longer causes a discrepancy between Cash and Cash Sales.
  • Account statements — Includes the hotfix for the account statement enhancements originally delivered in 4.9.0.5.
