📄Platform Fee Changes for Australian Online Transactions
EzeOffice Payment Fee Updates from 1 October 2026
Overview
From 1 October 2026, changes to Australian payment fee requirements have resulted in updates to how fees are applied to online transactions through EzeSuite/EzeOffice.
The previous credit card Processing Fee has been replaced by a Platform Fee for applicable Australian venues.
Unlike the previous Processing Fee, the Platform Fee is not linked to a particular payment method. Instead, it covers the use of the online platform and may apply regardless of how the customer chooses to pay.
These changes affect the following EzeOffice services:
- EzeGift – Online gift card purchases.
- EzePromotion – Online promotional purchases.
- EzeTicket – Online ticket purchases.
- EzeRenewal – Online membership renewals.
The Platform Fee may be passed on to the customer or absorbed by the venue, depending on the venue's arrangements.

Where applicable, the fee is included in the customer's total before payment is completed.
How Does the Platform Fee Work?
The Platform Fee may be applied to transactions completed through supported EzeOffice services.
Depending on the venue's arrangements:
- The Platform Fee may be added to the customer's purchase total.
- The venue may choose to absorb the Platform Fee so the customer is not charged an additional amount.
- The Platform Fee may apply regardless of the payment method selected.
The fee is based on the final purchase amount, after any applicable discounts or adjustments.
📌 Note: The previous credit card Processing Fee and the new Platform Fee are not charged together for the same transaction.
What Will Customers See?
When a Platform Fee applies to a customer's purchase, the online ordering experience provides information about the fee before payment is completed.
Customers may notice the following changes:
- Platform Fee Notification - A notification may appear on the main page advising that a Platform Fee applies to the purchase.
- Platform Fee in the Cart - A separate Platform Fee line is displayed in the shopping cart, allowing the customer to see the additional charge.
- Further Fee Information - Customers can select the information icon next to Platform Fee to view an explanation of the charge.
- Final Purchase Total - The total displayed at checkout includes the Platform Fee, where applicable.
If the venue absorbs the Platform Fee, no additional Platform Fee is added to the customer's purchase total.
What Does This Mean for Your Venue?
For Australian venues using EzeOffice, the main change is how online transaction fees are described and applied.
The introduction of the Platform Fee does not require venue operators to manually configure new payment settings.
