Overview

Fortuna 4.9.0.3 delivers new payment capabilities, compliance and security improvements, and a range of enhancements across POS operations, payment integrations, reporting, stock control, gaming, and third-party integrations.

This release includes:

• Recurring Payments via Oolio Pay tokenisation
• Adyen pre-authorisation support through the Oolio endpoint
• Compliance fixes for loyalty points redemption workflows
• Security enhancements for NowBookIt voucher validation
• EFTPOS surcharge reconciliation improvements for Doshii
• Performance and usability improvements in Maintain Transactions
• Stability and accuracy improvements across SmartPOS, reporting, and stock control

New Features

Recurring Payments via Oolio Pay

A new recurring payments capability has been introduced, allowing venues to securely store customer payment cards using Oolio Pay tokenisation.

Once a card has been tokenised, recurring charges can be processed automatically without requiring the customer to re-enter card details.

Benefits include:

• Support for memberships and subscription-based services
• Card details can be captured from POS or BackOffice
• Secure token management handled by Oolio Pay
• Reduced manual payment administration

Payment & EFTPOS Enhancements

1. Adyen Pre-Authorisation via Oolio Endpoint

Adyen pre-authorisation requests can now be routed through Oolio-managed infrastructure.

This enhancement improves reliability for workflows that rely on pre-authorisations, including:

• Bar tabs
• Hotel room charges
• Hospitality account workflows

The following new device configuration fields must now be configured:

• Oolio Endpoint URL
• Oolio API Key
• Merchant ID

 

2. Doshii EFTPOS Surcharge Reconciliation

Resolved an issue where POS surcharges were included within the order total when processing EFTPOS payments through the Doshii/PIP integration.

Surcharges are now transmitted separately, improving reconciliation accuracy between bepoz and Doshii.

Compliance & Gaming

1. Loyalty Points Redemption Compliance Fix

Resolved an issue that could allow loyalty points to be redeemed against alcohol purchases in certain casino environments.

The update now correctly enforces:

• Alcohol redemption restrictions
• $5 redemption increment requirements
• Consistent validation across all redemption workflows

This change improves compliance with venue and regulatory requirements.

 

2. CALink Inquiry Improvements

Resolved an issue where manually entered account numbers were incorrectly treated as card swipes when using the CALink Inquiry function.

The system now correctly distinguishes between:

• Swiped cards
• Manually entered account numbers

This ensures accurate information is passed to downstream gaming and loyalty providers.

SmartPOS Fixes & Table Service

1. Maintain Transactions Improvements (USA)

The Maintain Transactions screen has been enhanced with the following improvements:

• Combined Transaction View: Retail and table transactions can now be viewed simultaneously without switching modes.
• Improved Performance: Historical transaction searches now return results significantly faster.
• Direct Refund Access: Refund actions can now be performed directly from the Maintain Transactions screen without requiring Recall Transaction.

 

2. Saved Comments Display

Resolved an issue where saved comments attached to sale items were not displayed on the POS transaction screen.

Printing behaviour was unaffected.

 

3. Table Selection Error

Resolved an error that could occur when selecting an existing table after products had already been added to a transaction.

 

4. Production Docket Ordering

• Production dockets now print in the same order as items appear on the POS screen when sent.

 

5. Account Detachment Balance Accuracy

Resolved issues where account balances and drawer totals could become inaccurate when detaching accounts from tables.

• Balance calculations now remain accurate and orphaned charge scenarios have been addressed.

Reporting

Gross Profit Calculation Alignment

Resolved a discrepancy where Gross Profit values displayed in Profit Check did not always match BackOffice reporting.

Profit calculations are now aligned across:

• Profit Check
• Product Summary Report
• Gross Profit Percentage reporting

Stock Control

Metcash Link PriceBook Update Button

Resolved an issue where the Update PriceBook button was not visible for single-venue sites.

• The button now displays correctly regardless of venue configuration.

Integrations

1. NowBookIt Voucher Validation

Resolved a security issue that allowed cancelled NowBookIt vouchers to be redeemed.

• Voucher status is now validated in real time during redemption, preventing the use of deactivated vouchers.

 

2. ELabels Promotion Display Enhancement

• A new configuration option has been added to the ELabels job settings.

• When enabled, selected promotions can be displayed as an "Any" MultiBuy Type on supported electronic shelf labels.

Kiosk

Partial Database Synchronisation

Resolved an issue where kiosk-related database tables were excluded from partial database sends.

• Kiosk configuration data is now included during synchronisation.

Known Issues

The following items remain under development and will be addressed in a future release.

• Opera / TransQ Transaction Forwarding: Bistro transactions are not being sent to Opera in different workflows on SmartPOS. Some non-room-charge transactions are also not being forwarded to FIAS in all scenarios.

Before upgrading, please review the following requirements:

• Recurring Payments: Recurring Payments require Oolio Pay to be enabled and configured.
• CALink Venues: Validate both card swipe workflows and manual account entry workflows following the upgrade.
• Casino & Gaming Venues: Re-test loyalty points redemption workflows to confirm compliance rules are enforced as expected.
• NowBookIt Voucher Users: Ensure active connectivity to the NowBookIt API, as voucher status is now validated in real time during redemption.
